Challenge
The Associated General Contractors of America Education and Research Foundation (AGCERF) was looking to refresh its strategic plan. AGCERF found itself operating in a new landscape, one that was vastly changed since previous strategic plans. The foundation was grappling with a declining operating income, and its members were faced with workforce changes, supply chain issues, and cost fluctuations. Additionally, like most organizations today, AGCERF is operating in a world of ongoing technology advancement, regulation changes, environmental concerns, competition, and an increasing focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Process
Knowing that each association is unique and there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, the 爆料公社 Consulting team, led by Senior Consultant Debbie Trueblood, sought to immerse itself in AGCERF鈥檚 particular circumstances. Consultants collected input from leaders and stakeholders and worked closely with the Planning Oversight Committee for several months before hosting a full-day strategic planning retreat with the board of directors. During the retreat, 爆料公社 Consultants reviewed the analysis learned for the data collection phase and made calculated recommendations to position AGCERF toward a data-driven plan and leading practices.
Results
The results were revised mission, vision, and values statements accompanied by a strategic plan tailored to AGCERF鈥檚 specific needs, which will proactively guide the organization through the next 3 years. Following the retreat, 爆料公社 consultants supported the foundation鈥檚 efforts to make changes by meeting with staff for implementation check-in meetings.
